This life cycle analysis report was produced for San Francisco International Airport, to compare the life cycle environmental and cost impacts of two potential portable light towers: a new hydrogen fuel cell technology and a conventional diesel generator model. The equipment is used year-round for airport construction projects. Using SimaPro, a full life cycle model was produced which aimed to show the overall environmental impacts of each product, from the raw material & manufacturing stages through the use and maintenance phase. A life cycle costing was also performed to provide the client with viable financial data regarding the cost trade-offs associated with each option.
